Bar at the Folies-Bergère

This painting has a lot of layers that are hard to do justice with in my own words. I have a bit more to say about it in entry 94 when I redid this toward the end of the project.

In retrospect, I can't believe I cut out the top hat guy on the right this first time I copied it. I now understand that he's essential--he gives you a huge clue that the mirror isn't offering a true reflection, and offers a reason for the barmaid's shut-off facial expression.

Toward the end of the project, I redid old entries to compare progress and give the original artworks their proper due. You can see my redo of Bar at the Folies-Bergère at entry 94.
