This first round on this painting, I really skimped on the detail. However, I think I got the expression on my face perfect, better than the redo. It's actually easier to be expressive when you're speedrunning the drawing process, and this is a great example.
Now that I know more about this painting and the detail-obsessed Pre-Raphaelite philosophy that led to its creation, I find it ironic that I scribble scrabbled through all that painstakingly painted foliage. Attention to detail was one of the Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood's core tenets and it was just completely lost on me.
Toward the end of the project, I redid old entries to compare progress and give the original artworks their proper due. You can see my redo of Ophelia at entry 95.
